Music Notes Durational Exercises Digital Activity
Google Slides – Google Classroom
Drag and drop the correct value in the blank space to complete the music sentence.
When they drag the answer underneath it will show them if their answer was correct or wrong. My students like this activity because they can go over it as many times as they like and it’s helped them learn the note values much easier.
Circle of Fifths Explained

Let’s have a quick talk about the music alphabet. It all begins here right? So we need to understand how everything starts. On the picture below is The Music Alphabet shown as the regular ABC’s we all learn since we start understanding the world (a little bit).
A B C D E F G – 7 music notes. That is not hard to remember!

The next thing we need to know is the usual order of the music notes, the way we learn them in music class.
The piano keyboard is the easiest way to see and hear them in the “music” order:
C D E F G A B – same 7 notes in another order.

OK! Now it’s time to see the music notes on the “Music Staff”! These are the same notes positioned with music notes on the Music staff. If we learn a song we usually see the music notes written down in the “music language” with music notes.
The note “C” is on the first ledger line under the music staff.
The note “D” is under the first line of the music staff.
The note “E” is on the first line of the music staff.
The note “F” is on the first space of the music staff.
The note “G” is on the second line of the music staff.
The note “A” is on the second space of the music staff.
The note “B” is on the third line of the music staff.
After “B” we start again from “C”, we repeat the same names of the notes as they follow in the same order.
